The scorching sun and high UV Index in our state can be a challenge when it comes to keeping our children’s skin safe from sunburn. To support parents and other caregivers, starting in May, the Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation will be rolling out a series of sun safety lessons, activities, and stories designed specifically for children ages 3 to 8. These resources will make learning about sun protection engaging and fun, helping young kids understand the importance of protecting their skin from harmful UV rays.
Keep an eye out for these upcoming offerings:
- “Play Safe in the Sun” Flyer: This simple, one-page flyer shows children how to play in the sun while protecting their skin.
- Age-appropriate sun safety lessons, featuring desert animals, that are both informative and fun.
- Interactive activities that reinforce sun protection habits.
- Short stories featuring characters who practice sun safety.
- And more engaging and educational content designed to make sun safety a priority for young children!
The Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation is proud to serve Arizona parents and caregivers by providing resources that help create a sun-safe future for children. Stay tuned for more information on these offerings in May!
